Second round table conference on South Asian Children’s Film organized
by Southasian Children’s Cinema Forum (SACCF) began at Hotel Hycinth conference
hall on Monday. The conference is a part of the 18th IFFK. Monica
Walter the host and one of the key personalities behind the initiative said
that the organization is a network that promotes the production and development
of Children’s film in South Asia.
Eighteen participants from eight countries of South Asia
attended the conference, which discussed about the current trends in
production, marketing and screening of children films.
Joshy Mathew, director of ‘Black forest’ said, the Kerala government
has decreased the tax for children’s films inorder to promote them. While Adi
Adwani, director of ‘Arabani’ and special invitee at the conference, revealed
that his next film is going to on a subject with children in focus. Kathy
Loizon, Children’s Media Conference representative, opined that children should
be the protagonist in the films for them.
IFFK was the launch pad for the ‘Round Table on South Asian
Children’s Films’. The first round table conference, happened as part of last
year’s festival, was a great success.
Rustam Vania, Michael Joseph,
Kathy Loizon, Golda nellam, Catherine Masad, Batu, Susan Benn, Joshy Mathew,
Monica, Mahamayo Dinanayak, Sannette, Maluk, Arun Gupta and Roy Mathew attended
the meeting on the first day.
