My films are not made with any particular
political ideology even though it may have a political angle, said Italian cine
mastero Marco Bellocchio. He was delivering the 11thAravindan memorial lecture
held at Nila theatre on Sunday, as a part of 18th IFFK.
“My films reflect my own experience
and feelings. Since I consider filmy media as a visual magma, I often use the scope of television, documentaries, reportage,
etc for representing the reality. My films go beyond dimensions. They have
element such as fantasy, imagination that goes beyond realism. In fact legendary filmmakers like
Satyajit Ray, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Mrinal sen
and Kumar Shahani in India were following an Indianised version of Neorealist
tradition”, he added.
NC Senan, assistant director of Aravindan’s
much acclaimed movie ‘Thampu’, opined, that G Aravindan was a Director of both
common masses as well as intellectuals. Aravindan stimulated
the Parallel stream of cinema under the firm conviction that films are the sum total
of all Art forms.
Noted Film scholar, Suresh
Chappadia was the Moderator and and P Mavro

for Bellocchio.
Roy Peter , General council member of KSCA presented the award of honour to Bellocchio
on behalf of the academy.
