“Huge participation in the festival astonishes me” said female actor and Jury member Gauthami, while she was ‘in conversation’ with Meena T Pillai at Nila Theater. She quoted that films in this festival are extremely diverse and brilliant ones. Gauthami described it as an honor to be a jury member, as IFFK is considered to be one of the finest of its kind. “I am happy on sharing space with the most eminent and excellent fellow jury members”, she added.

To be a jury is to get into the mind of filmmaker, to know their passion in making them, she expressed her thoughts on being a jury member.

The actor was really glad on receiving great amount of love and affection from the malayali audience even after these many years. Gauthami recalled Malayalam film industry as her second home and Kerala very close to her heart. She ever felt that it was Malayalam films which discovered another brilliant side of her acting.

Speaking from her heart, Gauthami said that she enjoyed very much in doing anything related to cinema and have always felt sad on not getting a chance to go to any film school. ‘Because of this I have used every opportunity to learn deeper about cinema, no matter from any person’. On asked about Kamal Hassan, she went on to be professional and said that he has always been a generous teacher for her.

When asked about her becoming a director, Gauthami replied that she is not yet ready for that, as it requires more time but hopefully will direct a film in future. “I like to do a character that challenges me, let it be the same that I have done. Only that it should throw me beyond my barriers”, she replied on what type of character she would love to perform.

Concluding her chat, the actor said that there is nothing wrong in planning for tomorrow but at the same time should never forget to live your today.
